Hidden Beaches in Ibiza
Beyond the famous sands — quieter coves for passengers with time, transport and a taste for discovery.
Distance
15–45 minutes by road
Travel time
20–45 min taxi each way
Time needed
3–4 hours minimum
Ibiza's hidden beaches trade convenience for character — smaller coves, fewer sunbeds and clearer water away from the coach circuits. Cruise passengers can reach several on longer port days with a taxi or organised beach hike, but none are walkable from the ship. This guide separates genuinely quieter spots from beaches that are simply farther away.
Aguas Blancas on the northeast coast offers golden cliffs and a bohemian chiringuito at roughly 20 minutes from Ibiza Town — popular with locals but less overrun than Ses Salines. Cala Xarraca and S'Illot des Rencli near Portinatx in the north need 35–45 minutes driving but reward with snorkel-friendly shallows and pine shade.
Cala Saladeta and Cala Salada near Sant Antoni are beautiful but fill quickly in summer — arrive before 10:30 or accept crowds. True 'hidden' status on Ibiza is relative; the island is well-mapped. The advantage for cruise passengers is timing: morning visits before afternoon coach groups arrive from mainland excursions.
Our beach hike and swim excursion targets quieter coastal paths with supervised swim stops — a practical way to reach hidden coves without negotiating taxi waits. DIY visitors should agree return pickup times and carry cash; many small chiringuitos do not take cards.

Hidden Beaches in Ibiza — FAQs
What is the best hidden beach near Ibiza Town?▼
Aguas Blancas offers the best balance of access (20 minutes) and relative quiet. True seclusion needs the north coast.
Can cruise passengers reach hidden beaches without a car?▼
Taxis work on longer calls. Public buses are too slow for tight cruise windows. Organised beach hikes are the most reliable option.
Are hidden beaches facilities-free?▼
Most have at least a small chiringuito in season. Sunbeds may be limited or absent — bring towels and shade.
Is Cala Salada worth the drive?▼
Yes on 7+ hour calls if you arrive early. It is well-known locally and fills by late morning in summer.
How do hidden beaches compare to Formentera?▼
Formentera has superior water clarity but needs ferry time. Hidden Ibiza coves suit passengers who want beaches without ferry risk.
